Olivier Giroud has been ruled out of Lille v Lorient on Sunday, part of Ligue 1 matchday 25, according to L'Équipe.

Lille often choose not to publish their squad on Saturday night, and the list that followed contained a surprise.

The 39-year-old also missed the reverse fixture at Les Merlus in late August, which finished 7-1.

He is likely to have picked up a knock during training on the eve of the game.

His withdrawal is a late development ahead of kick-off.
