Lille OSC president Olivier Létang is in hot water for comments made following his side’s 1-0 defeat versus Olympique Lyonnais on matchday six of the Ligue 1 campaign.
The game at Stade Pierre-Mauroy was extremely heated, with a combined 44 fouls committed between the two teams, resulting in four yellow cards each. Létang said there’s a fundamental problem when it comes to officiating in France, something he believes happens every week.
Létang has been summoned to a disciplinary hearing before the National Council of Ethics. According to L’Équipe, he could be at risk of missing several matches through suspension as a result of his comments. News of this action potentially being taken against him comes just a day after Létang was officially elected president of the Ligue 1 college.
The Frenchman is also the subject of a report by the college of delegates, whose behaviour some deemed as inappropriate. The FSA Disciplinary Commission will decide his fate at a meeting on October 22.
