Olivier Létang has been referred to the LFP disciplinary commission over his conduct around Lille-PSG on 28 August 2026. According to L'Équipe, the CNE escalated the case after clashes with officials.

Post-match, the Lille president disputed added time and shouted that it was a scandal. At 22:53 he wrote to refereeing chief Anthony Gautier calling the situation shameful.

In a second email at 03:08 on 29 August, copied to leaders of the FFF and LFP, he attacked the choice of officials and said Lille would no longer accept being refereed by the person concerned. He added that if that referee were appointed again for a LOSC game, the club reserved the right not to turn up or stage the match, and would explain that publicly.

At 12:23 he again pressed the refereeing director, asking who would pay and repair the damage, and said there would be no answer. Despite a reasoned reply at 20:29 that night, Létang reaffirmed in a 31 August email that the only response was to punish and that a reasoned debate was not accepted. He also said Lille would never again accept Eric Wattellier refereeing one of their matches.

The CNE concluded that his post-match remarks and a series of often aggressive messages breached the Charter’s standards of example and respect, noting a previous sanction for similar conduct. He now faces a further penalty, having been suspended for more than two months in January for behaviour towards Eric Wattellier at half-time of Lille-Rennes, a 0-2 defeat.
