Olivier Pantaloni is set to sign a two-year deal with OGC Nice on Wednesday, with the coach already in the city.

According to L'Équipe, his appointment was approved by a board meeting on Tuesday, with the formal signing expected on Wednesday morning.

The pursuit has lasted several weeks and is set to conclude. Pantaloni has travelled to finalise terms with the Aiglons.

He was highly convincing in the interview to become Claude Puel’s successor. Puel kept the Gym in Ligue 1 via the play-offs against Saint-Étienne, 0-0 then 4-1, after replacing Franck Haise in late December.

Pantaloni is due to arrive with only one assistant. Goalkeeping coach Stéphane Cassard and Cédric Varrault, already on Puel’s staff, are expected to remain alongside the former Lorient manager.
