The holding company behind Olympique Lyonnais has been put on the market, with its administrator inviting interest in its majority stakes across the group.

O Globo reports that a small advert ran in The Financial Times on Friday, offering Eagle Football Holdings Bidco Limited, which holds shares in OL, Botafogo and RWDM Brussels.

Cork Gully was appointed administrator on 27 March to oversee Eagle Football Bidco, which owns 85% of OL, and has turned to this route to market the holding.

The listing said the company owns stakes in three football clubs and that it is putting the business’s main assets, namely its majority holdings, up for sale.

It described OL as a major Ligue 1 club, Botafogo as among Brazil’s most historic, and RWDM Brussels, formerly RWD Molenbeek, as a professional club based in Belgium.

Interested parties were directed to email EagleAssets@corkgully.com. The approach is uncommon, and it could perhaps help an OL side under financial strain.
