Amine Gouiri could undergo surgery after his injury sustained against Uganda with Algeria? A major decision is set to be made this Friday.

During a collision with Ugandan goalkeeper Salim Magoola last Tuesday in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, Amine Gouiri suffered an injury. The Algerian has already been ruled out for Olympique de Marseille’s match against Le Havre on Saturday in Ligue 1. While initial tests were reassuring, the Marseille medical staff remains concerned about the former Lyon striker’s shoulder.

According to information from La Provence, OM are considering two options. Either a four-week rehabilitation program to try and resolve the issue, or surgery—which would mean a lengthy spell on the sidelines. However, Marseille’s management and Gouiri are scheduled to meet this Friday to make a final decision.
