On Wednesday night, Bilal Nadir collapsed on the pitch shortly after coming on. These are the kinds of scenes no one wants to witness on a football field. Substituted in at the 76th minute to replace Igor Paixão against SCO Angers, the Moroccan player suffered a sudden illness. Replaced by Pol Lirola, Nadir, who spent just 11 minutes on the pitch, was stretchered off.

The young player remained fully conscious during his ordeal and was in stable condition. He was then taken to the hospital for further and more thorough examinations. Once these were completed, OM released an official statement regarding his condition.

"Olympique de Marseille wishes to provide reassuring news about Bilal Nadir, who suffered a malaise yesterday during the match against SCO Angers. The player did not lose consciousness at the time of the incident. As soon as he was attended to by the club's medical staff and emergency services present at the scene, all his vital signs were found to be normal. As a precaution, Bilal Nadir was transferred to the hospital for a full medical check-up. His condition is good, and he remains under observation as these assessments continue. The club thanks the medical teams for their swift response, as well as the many supporters for their messages of encouragement. Further updates will be provided as the situation evolves," the French club announced.
