Omar Bravo comes out of retirement to return to Guadalajara | OneFootball

Chivas legend and all-time leading scorer Omar Bravo has come out of retirement and will play in Guadalajara for the upcoming season.

However, he will not be wearing the Chivas colors.

Through an announcement on Twitter, Leones Negros president Alberto Castellanos revealed that the 39-year-old Bravo would be joining his side for the Ascenso MX campaign.

” It is a pleasure to announce that ⁦Omar Bravo, one of the most beloved and emblematic players in Mexican football, will integrate as a player of Leones Negros for the 2019-20 season. Welcome to your home.”

Bravo had featured with the Ascenso MX outfit as a guest player against Rayados on 13 July and for a friendly against USL side Forward Madison three days later.

The 66-time Mexico international scored 132 goals in three separate stints at Chivas (2001-08, 2009-10, 2013-17).

Bravo had announced his retirement last November after last being seen with the USL’s Phoenix Rising.
