A fresh report suggests that Premier League and Bundesliga clubs are interested in signing Ipswich Town attacker Omari Hutchinson.
It has been reported that Ipswich Town attacker Omari Hutchinson is the subject of interest from six clubs, coming from both the Premier League and the Bundesliga.
Hutchinson initially arrived at Portman Road on loan from Chelsea for the 2023/24 season, before joining the Tractor Boys on a permanent basis for a fee believed to be in the region of £20 million, which is a club record, last summer.
The 21-year-old Redhill-born winger, who can also operate as an attacking midfielder, showed flashes of his potential in the Premier League last season, and that has left him with plenty of admirers ahead of this summer.
According to a report in the Daily Mail, Hutchinson is the subject of interest from six clubs in this window, with four from England’s top-flight and two teams in the Bundesliga.
It is said that Everton are targeting Hutchinson, whilst Brentford, Fulham and West Ham United are monitoring him alongside both Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig - the former an attractive destination having offered both Bellingham brothers a route out of the EFL.
Hutchinson is currently on international duty with the England U21 side at the UEFA U21 European Championships, and he has been instrumental for Lee Carsley’s Young Lions in their run to the semi-finals, where they will face the Netherlands.
The report goes on to say that Hutchinson believes himself ready or European football, whether that be in the Premier League or abroad. He is expected to draw scouts when England U21s take on Netherlands in their U21 European Championship semi-final on Wednesday night - a game that will be shown on terrestrial television.
He is said to be keen to continue to test himself at the highest level, but is grateful to Ipswich for the opportunities provided to him.
It is also suggested that Ipswich value Hutchinson at around £30 million, which is the same fee as to what the club recently sold Liam Delap to Chelsea for.
It had been expected by the club for a while that Delap would depart, with Ipswich boss Kieran McKenna saying that he had been given permission to speak to other clubs before the end of last season.
The next most likely departure was also always expected to be Hutchinson, and it will come as no surprise to Ipswich supporters to see so many clubs interested in the former Arsenal academy man.
McKenna and the Tractor Boys spent their two transfer windows in the Premier League building a squad that now looks ideally suited to challenge for the Championship title and an immediate return to the top-flight.
Ipswich brought in stars of previous Championship seasons, such as Jacob Greaves, Chiedozie Ogbene, Jaden Philogene, Jack Clarke and Sammie Szmodics; so they will be well-placed to push on this summer if Hutchinson was to depart the club.
Hutchinson, who played in the youth academies of Charlton and Chelsea as well as Arsenal before turning professional at Arsenal, has made 82 appearances and scored 14 goals for Ipswich.
He has represented England at U17, U19 and now U21 level, but did play twice for the senior Jamaica national side in 2023, earning full international caps, both coming in friendlies against Trinidad and Tobago.
