An on-loan member of the attacking ranks at La Liga giants Atlético Madrid has this weekend ruled out a potential future move to Real Madrid in the most definitive manner possible.

The player in question? Carlos Martín.

Winger Martín, for his part, is in the midst of a season-long loan away from Spain’s capital, plying his trade with another of La Liga’s clubs, in Deportivo Alavés.

All told, across the term to date, the 22-year-old has racked up 19 league appearances, chipping in with two goals and two assists along the way.

This weekend, Martín sat down for an interview with Radio Kiroleros, during which he was drawn on a whole host of topics regarding his past, present and future alike.

And one response provided by the Spaniard has since turned heads across the La Liga landscape.

In quotes relaid by Mundo Deportivo, after being questioned on the possibility of signing for Atlético’s arch rivals, Real Madrid, down the line, Martín explained:

“Impossible, impossible. Come on, I’m leaving football sooner! I’m very clear about it. No one’s going to dissuade me from that idea.”
