On-loan Barcelona star spotted back at club’s training ground | OneFootball

A member of the Barcelona loan army was this week spotted back at the club’s training facilities.

The player in question? Julián Araujo.

Defender Araujo, for his part, linked up with Barcelona in the summer of 2023, before being immediately farmed out to Las Palmas for the duration of the campaign.

As much came with a view to the Mexican international building his experience of Spanish football, after spending the early years of his fledgling career in MLS, with the LA Galaxy.

And, all told, Araujo’s stint in Gran Canaria proved itself to be a productive one.

Despite injury and suspension problems, the 22-year-old established himself as an important member of the Las Palmas backline, on his way to 25 La Liga appearances under the watch of García Pimienta.

The widespread assumption, in turn, has long been that Araujo will be afforded the opportunity to prove himself during pre-season back in Catalunya later this summer.

It will therefore no doubt be of interest to those of a Barcelona persuasion to hear that the club’s new manager has likely already become acquainted with the right-back.

As noted by eagle-eyed fans on social media, and since reported by Diario Sport, Araujo was in attendance at The Ciutat Esportiva on Wednesday.

The Mexican was spotted in the background of footage of Hansi Flick touring the Blaugrana’s training facilities, no doubt eager to make a positive early impact on the latest installation on the Camp Nou bench.
