“Once upon a time, a daft man had a daft idea,” Brogan Rogan Trevino and Hogan (BRTH) noted on the bsky.app at the weekend…

DAFT incidentally must stand for DEFINITELY A FANTASTIC TRIP. Indeed we are talking the trip of a lifetime for 19 chartered plane loads of Celtic supporters, all seats taken and all coming home with memories that would last a lifetime.

I know BRTH and I was at his dad’s funeral. They played Hail Glorious St Patrick at the funeral mass and that seemed appropriate.

So what was this ‘daft idea’ that perhaps has more mad than daft but enriched the lives of all those who got on board. There’s an article in The Irish Voice that explains.

“Hail Hail the Celts are here!” were the words heard over the tannoy system by Celtic fans when they arrived back to Glasgow Airport following their Lisbon victory. The announcer was Kathleen McGinley, Jim’s wife who welcomed them home. I’d have paid good money to be there and hear that announcement I can tell you.
