FC Barcelona are set to make their much-awaited return to the Spotify Camp Nou tomorrow to face Athletic Bilbao in La Liga. After months of the reopening being pushed back, the date has finally arrived for players and fans alike.
This also means the club have played their last game at Montjuic. Barcelona chose the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys as their temporary home while the Camp Nou was under renovation, and it is time to bid adieu.
According to Mundo Deportivo, one Barcelona star with an eternal legacy at Montjuic is Raphinha. The Brazilian had a couple of excellent seasons there and will hope to carry that form to the Camp Nou.
Raphinha ends this exile at Montjuic as the Barcelona player with the most goal contributions. The South American has 43 G/A, with 24 goals and 19 assists. He would have had more were it not for the injury that has kept him out for the past couple of months.
Only Lewandowski has scored more goals for Barcelona (33) than Raphinha. The podium is rounded off by Lamine Yamal, who has 15 goals. Ferran Torres and Fermin Lopez are the other Barcelona players in double figures.
Raphinha had a sensational run during Barcelona’s domestic treble-winning 2024–25 season. His exploits at Montjuic, especially in Champions League games, will never be forgotten. Decades from now, if anyone thinks of the stadium on the hilltop that served them well for a couple of seasons, Raphinha will be the first player who comes to mind, and that is what an eternal legacy is.
