Manchester City suffered a cruel injury blow on the eve of the 24/25 season. Oscar Bobb went down with a fractured leg just before the new season was set to begin. It was a cruel blow for the Norwegian international who starred during Manchester City’s pre-season tour of the United States. But Oscar Bobb’s return is beginning to come into view. In an interview published by Jack Gaughan in the Daily Mail, Oscar Bobb is aiming to return at the end of January or at the start of February. That is welcome news for Manchester City.
In the interview published in the Daily Mail, Oscar Bobb provided an update on his condition. He explained: “I think hopefully the end of January or the start of February I can be in and around the squad. I am getting back to fitness now, slowly but surely starting to run again. I saw it as more of a pause than a setback. I can definitely take inspiration from my pre-season. I was really pleased with the summer that I had and I felt really strong during the US tour and in the Community Shield. I am determined to work even harder now to get back to that form to help the team.”
Manchester City have missed Oscar Bobb since he went down with a fractured leg. He had appeared set for a prominent role in Pep Guardiola’s squad based off of his strong pre-season form. But it wasn’t to be as injury struck at the worst possible time for the youngster.
But it appears that Bobb is now nearing a return. There is no doubt that Manchester City will likely take a cautious approach with his return from afirst-team leg. But it will be a welcome boost when he is back in first team contention. It may take time for Bobb to find the form he showed during City’s pre-season tour of the United States. But just having him back will be a boost for Pep Guardiola’s side. Bobb’s return now appears to be only weeks away which is welcome news.
