And for the first instalment of this term’s popular One Moment in Time feature, we roll the clock back to November 2023 and a memorable previous home meeting with the Cherries.

It was an Etihad afternoon that saw City inflict a 6-1 defeat on Bournemouth – and proved a record-breaking day for Jeremy Doku.

The Belgian winger had arrived at City a couple of months earlier from Stade Rennais already armed with a burgeoning reputation.

And ahead of the Bournemouth clash, Doku had already given cause for excitement with his supreme dribbling ability, searing pace and desire to take on opposition full-backs illustrating his talent and hunger.

But his devastating display against the south coast visitors truly illustrated just why City had brought him to the Etihad.

Doku proved simply unplayable on what was to prove both a record-breaking individual display and all-round team masterclass that also saw City return to the top of the Premier League.

Doku opened the scoring on the half hour, the then 21-year-old finding the target with a quite brilliant curling strike following a neat one-two with Rodri.

However, he wasn’t finished there. Far from it.

Doku proceeded to run the visitors ragged by also providing four assists – two for Bernardo Silva, a third for Phil Foden before rounding off a day to savour by seeing a shot deflect in off Manuel Akanji for his fourth.

At the age of just 21 years and 161 days, it made him the youngest player in Premier League history to register five goal involvements in a single game, as well as becoming the youngest player to assist four goals in a single game.

Furthermore, it served as only the eighth occasion of a player contributing four assists in a single Premier League game and was the first time a City player had achieved the notable feat.

It left the Etihad drooling in appreciation – not least Pep Guardiola.

“He’s not just one against one and one against two. He surprised all of us - he’s a great footballer. He reads every action for exactly what he has to do,” the former City boss declared.

“His quality is close to the box. Always we talk about that.

“Go, dribble and go because its difficult to find a player today with the ability to play in small spaces and he is one of the fastest players over five metres.

“It’s incredible how he changes the rhythm in five metres.

“After that when he’s not able to dribble, he takes good decisions and I’m impressed by that. That’s why for me he’s a great, great footballer.”
