Milan midfielder Tijjani Reijnders has been nominated for the Champions League player of the week after netting a brace during his side’s 3-1 victory over Club Brugge on Tuesday night.

The Dutchman is the only Serie A representative among the candidates. He is joined by Takumi Minamino of AS Monaco, Vinicius Jr. of Real Madrid and fellow Brazilian Raphinha from Barcelona.

Florian Wirtz of Bayer Leverkusen and Karim Adeyemi of Borussia Dortmund took home the accolade after rounds one and two respectively.

Reijnders nominated for Champions League player of the round

Reijnders put the finishing touches of Milan’s turnaround against Club Brugge on Wednesday. The Rossoneri had been 1-0 up in the first-half, but conceded early into the second despite playing against 10 men.

Paulo Fonseca called for substitutions just shy of the hour mark, introducing Noah Okafor and Samuel Chukwueze, who both claimed assists for Reijnders’s two goals.

Reijnders also drew the foul that Raphael Onyedika his red card just before the end of the first half.
