A club record signing along with striker Steve Mounié, Franck Honorat is living up to his billing at Stade Brestois 29: the explosive winger has emerged as one of the most dangerous customers in the league in season 2021-22.

After a highly promising debut season with Brest, Honorat has been brilliant this term, helping the side string together a club-record six straight wins.

"He's  dynamic, he's elegant!" enthused Ligue 1 Uber Eats commentator Armel Tanguy. "He's got real sense of timing. His finishing is precise, powerful… More often than normal from very long range. Since he's been with Brest we've seen Franck Honorat score absolute blinders."

Teeing off

With eight goals last terms and five so far in this one, Honorat poses a consistent threat - and is capable of scoring spectacular goals - as he showed at Marseille earlier this month. Honorat's screamer clinched a memorable victory at the Vélodrome to secure the club-record winning run.

"What we're doing now, after a tough start to the season, is fantastic," said the man of the moment. "We're enjoying our football and gaining confidence, so let's try to keep it up."

Teeing up

Lining up on the left flank, Honorat combines well with his teammates and has also notched three assists, meaning he's been involved in one third of Brest's goals this season.

"He began in the Ligue 1 with Nice and Saint Etienne but it was only really when he arrived in Brest that he exploded to the scene," continued Tanguy. "Michel Der Zakarian finds it impossible to drop him now."

Still just 25, Honorat has matured into a superb all-round attacker… and he's now a fundamental part of the Brest coach's plans. Like a fish in water, Honorat has played more minutes than any other outfield player at the club this season, and he'll be looking to make another big impact away to Troyes in the last outing of 2021 on Wednesday.
