Since Leicester City are targeting Evan Ferguson in the January transfer window, here is one winner and two losers from the potential Leicester transfer.
According to reports this week, Leicester City are "seriously considering" a move for Evan Ferguson in the January transfer window. It is believed that the Irish striker who is out of favour at Brighton and Hove Albion will be allowed to seek a new club, with the Foxes one of the interested parties.
Leicester City already have Facundo Bounanotte on loan from Brighton and Hove Albion. According to Leicester Mercury, bringing in Evan Ferguson would either mean relieving Buonanotte of his loan spell or putting out a club record fee to sign Ferguson permanently.
Of course, stranger things have happened. So, in the hypothetical world, here is one winner and two losers from Leicester City signing Evan Ferguson...
Signing Evan Ferguson would mean that Tom Cannon is not recalled from his loan spell early. This might seem like unfortunate news but for the talented Fox, it can only mean good things.
Cannon is impressing on his loan spell away from the King Power Stadium. Therefore, he would be afforded more time to develop. Guess you could call it "tough love."
"Jamie Vardy" and "loser" are two phrases you never expected to read in the same sentence, right?
And I hate to be the one to write it. However, in his made-up world which doesn't yet exist, Jamie Vardy would certainly not be a winner with Leicester bringing in Evan Ferguson.
Ferguson has already proven his quality in the Premier League and especially if he is signed for a club record fee, he won't rot away on the bench. Therefore, this cannot be good news for Vardy, who is going through a great patch of form in the Premier League.
Patson Daka has not yet made his first Premier League start of the season. He did score a goal in his first cameo under Ruud van Nistelrooy but he hasn't proven himself just yet.
While Ruud van Nistelrooy has always been a fan of Patson Daka, it is rather telling of RvN's lack of faith in Leicester's depth up top that he is targeting Evan Ferguson. This cannot be good news for Daka.
