The knockout rounds continue on Monday with three fascinating Round of 32 ties as Brazil face Japan, Germany meet Paraguay and the Netherlands take on Morocco.
Here are all the key questions on Day 19 of the World Cup.
Brazil have steadily grown into the tournament after an unconvincing opening match. Carlo Ancelotti's side responded with consecutive 3-0 victories over Haiti and Scotland before comfortably booking their place in the knockout rounds, with Vinícius Júnior and Matheus Cunha among their standout performers.
Japan arrive unbeaten, although they have been less convincing than many expected. Hajime Moriyasu's side drew with both the Netherlands and Sweden before defeating Tunisia to progress from Group F. Their organisation and pressing have been impressive throughout the tournament, but they now face their toughest test yet.
Brazil possess considerably more quality across the pitch and have found their rhythm at exactly the right time. Japan are disciplined enough to keep the game competitive, but the South Americans should eventually find a way through.
Our prediction: Brazil 2-0 Japan
Germany's campaign has been something of a mixed bag. Julian Nagelsmann's side produced the tournament's biggest win so far with a 7-1 demolition of Curaçao, but inconsistent performances elsewhere meant they never quite found top gear during the group stage. Deniz Undav has emerged as their leading scorer.
Paraguay looked to be heading home after suffering a heavy opening defeat to the United States, but Gustavo Alfaro's side responded superbly. Victories over Türkiye and Australia secured an unlikely place in the knockout rounds thanks to disciplined defending and clinical finishing.
Germany should enjoy the majority of possession, while Paraguay will look to frustrate them and strike on the counter-attack. The South Americans have already exceeded expectations, but Germany's greater attacking quality should prove enough.
Our prediction: Germany 2-1 Paraguay
This looks the standout tie of the day.
The Netherlands progressed steadily through Group F, collecting seven points despite never quite hitting top form. Ronald Koeman's side remain difficult to break down and have improved with every game, although they continue to search for greater consistency in attack.
Morocco have arguably been one of the tournament's most impressive teams. They finished level on points with Brazil in Group C, only missing out on top spot on goal difference after beating Scotland, drawing with Brazil and coming from behind to defeat Haiti.
This has all the ingredients to be the closest contest of the day. Morocco are organised and confident, but the Netherlands' experience in major tournament knockout football may just edge a finely balanced contest.
Our prediction: Netherlands 2-1 Morocco
Ismael Saibari
Saibari has been Morocco's biggest attacking threat during the group stage, scoring three goals while linking midfield and attack superbly. If Morocco are to pull off another upset, they will likely need another influential performance from the PSV midfielder.
Japan have only won once their last 14 meetings with Brazil, although their only victory came in their last encounter back in 2025.
