A member of the defensive ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona is now the only member of Hansi Flick’s squad to have featured in every one of the club’s fixtures this season.

The player in question? Eric García.

Stopper Eric was for his part in from the off once more on Saturday, as Barcelona welcomed Athletic Club to the Spotify Camp Nou for their post-international break return to action.

The former Manchester City man was tasked with stepping forward into midfield, amid the absences of both Pedri and Frenkie de Jong.

And en route to an eventual 4-0 Blaugrana rout, Eric showcased his stellar versatility once more, shining on both sides of the ball on his way to a standing ovation.

Now considered one of the first names on the team sheet in Catalunya’s capital, the Spaniard is the only Barcelona star to have played at least some part in all 17 of the club’s outings in 2025/26.

This comes after Marcus Rashford was forced to sit out on Saturday owing to a bout of illness.
