FC Barcelona are always looking to ensure that they retain their most competitive and capable players. After all, the Catalan giants know the kind of expectations that the fans and the club itself have of the team. To meet those expectations, Barcelona needs to have the best players available as well.
However, there are certain players who are seen as promising enough additions to the squad but possibly not the right fit to regularly start for the team. Such players often end up considering a way out, even if it is temporary, to get the playing time they need to showcase their abilities.
That is where loan deals come into play, and such Barcelona players often leave on loan to other sides in order to get more regular minutes and carve a place for themselves in some other starting eleven. While some players can stay behind and try to prove themselves, others end up taking the loan options
Currently, however, it seems that Barcelona are not fully convinced by all the players that they have sent out on loan. In most cases, the objective for those players is to showcase their quality with regular minutes and potentially earn their way back to Barça.
However, according to Mundo Deportivo, only one out of the four loaned players has currently managed to catch Barça’s eye. While the club is actively keeping a regular eye on all the loaned players, Spanish left-back Alex Valle is reportedly the only one who has a chance of returning right now.
Currently at Italian side Como after his departure from Scottish side Celtic, Valle is impressing Barcelona with his consistency and performances. As a result of it, he is highlighted as currently being the only loanee who Barcelona may end up bringing back to the club.
As for Oriol Romeu (Girona), Vitor Roque (Real Betis), and Clement Lenglet (Atletico Madrid), their chances are not as promising. Moreover, it is unclear for now just what exactly Barcelona plans to do with those players, but Valle remains impressive.
However, it is also true that the left-back position at Barcelona already seems to be sorted out. With Gerard Martin’s contract also renewed now, the club does seem to have faith in his abilities as a back-up to the in-form Alejandro Balde.
