Lois Openda and Edon Zhegrova are Juventus' latest two signings for the 2025/26 season. These two players complete Igor Tudor's attacking line-up and the Croatian coach will be relying on them during the season ahead. Both possess unique characteristics, and their wealth of international experience is a positive factor that has contributed to their selection.

FOOTBALL JOURNEY

Lois Openda born in Belgium to a Congolese father and Moroccan mother. His first steps in football were at Standard Liège and then at the Brugge academy. He made his senior debut in 2018, and in 2020 he moved on loan to Vitesse to hone his skills and find a more central role in the technical project.

The next steps were Lens and Leipzig. It was in the Bundesliga where the young centre forward's talent really shone through. Between 2023 and 2025, he scored a total of 41 goals, showing that he was capable of playing at the highest level for the biggest teams. He has also represented Belgium at both youth and senior level, making 28 appearances and scoring three goals.

Edon Zhegrova, a Kosovan national, continued his footballing development. with Standard Liege and then with Sint-Truiden, where he stayed until 2017. He made the move to Genk in the summer of 2017 and Zhegrova made his debut and his career was set to experience a rapid and exciting rise. Two years later, he moved to Switzerland with FC Basel, where he scored 11 goals and produced some excellent displays over four seasons. His latest move was to Lille in France’s top flight, where he started to improve in the final third which saw him recognised as one of Lille’s top talents and in Ligue One. He has been playing for the Kosovo national team since 2018, making 42 appearances and scoring 5 goals for his country.

TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS AND PROSPECTS FOR USE

A quick striker with excellent running ability. Lois Openda joins Serie A with the pedigree of a modern striker, quick to move on the counterattack and skilled at imposing himself even in tight spaces. In addition to his excellent goal-scoring record, he is a striker who provides plenty of assists. Devastating in transitions, his experience gives him the versatility to be used both in a flexible forward line and with a strike partner.

Edon Zhegrova is a left-footed right winger with exceptional technical skills, showing signs of being one of the best dribblers in Europe. He has a natural tendency to seek out one-on-one situations and break down tight defences. He is trying to force himself into manager Tudor’s plans, immediately establishing himself in the squad hierarchy. He will be a valuable asset as a right attacking midfielder for Juventus. However, a different role cannot be ruled out if he is considered in an attacking line-up with more firepower in the same formation.
