Liverpool stunned Inter Milan at San Siro on Tuesday, inflicting significant damage on their bid to replicate last year’s Champions League feat.
According to Opta’s supercomputer via FCInterNews, the Italian giants still hold a 64% chance of reaching the top eight despite the setback.
Inter Milan thrived in the first-ever league phase edition under Simone Inzaghi last season.
Indeed, the Nerazzurri finished fourth in the 36-team table, having only lost once in eight matches.

Despite winning their first four Champions League games under Cristian Chivu, Inter’s top-eight pursuit is now in jeopardy.
Unfortunately, the Serie A heavyweights have lost their last two European fixtures to Atletico Madrid and Liverpool.
As a result, they finished round six level on points with the ninth-placed Reds.
With matches against Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund around the corner, there’s a genuine concern that Inter could slip out of the top eight.
However, Opta’s supercomputer backs them to stay in the race, projecting a 64% chance of securing an automatic last-16 berth.
