La Liga giants Barcelona are growing increasingly confident of closing a deal for a leading member of the club’s transfer wishlist.

That’s according to market insider Gianluca Di Marzio, who points towards Federico Chiesa as the player in question.

The name of wide-man Chiesa has of course dominated the headlines in Catalunya’s capital across the week to date.

This comes amid widespread confirmation that the Italian international, out of the plans of new Juventus boss Thiago Motta, has made his way firmly onto the wishlist of Barcelona.

The Camp Nou brass are on the lookout for reinforcements out wide, with Chiesa’s explosiveness and ability to play on both wings making him a tempting profile.

Those of a Blaugrana persuasion, in turn, will no doubt be excited by the latest word on the situation stemming from Italy.

This comes amid the following update on the part of the reliable Gianluca Di Marzio:
