An extension of Willi Orban’s RB Leipzig contract beyond 2027 is not out of the question, according to Sky Germany, with the Hungarian centre-half maintaining strong form.
When fit, the 33-year-old is regarded as a guaranteed starter and is valued highly by the club as both a player and a person.
Any new agreement would come on revised terms, tied to the salary model and his existing contract, and could involve a slightly adjusted role.
A position within the Saxony-based club after his playing career is also a possibility for the veteran defender.
There is no rush to finalise an extension and no advanced talks have taken shape yet.
If Orban wishes to stay, Leipzig are counting on him for the upcoming season and remain open to further discussions.
The player and his representatives are relaxed about the situation and confident a deal can be reached.
