O’Reilly says England will be ‘alright’ if they can keep Haaland quiet | OneFootball

Manchester City star Nico O’Reilly says England should be ok against Norway if they can just keep his club teammate Erling Haaland quiet.

Haaland is on red-hot form, and has bagged seven World Cup goals so far. He was brilliant against Brazil in the round of 16 game and single-handedly won his nation the game, scoring both goals.

O’Reilly plays with him at club level, but also alongside the imperious Harry Kane. Asked to compare them, he said: “Yeah, they have two different playing styles and they’re both world-class strikers and they both give different stuff to the game. But, yeah, I think if we keep their striker quiet, then we will be alright.”

Later asked if England will win the game if they can keep Haaland quiet, the full-back said: “They’ve got great players all around the pitch who can cause a lot of danger. They’ve shown that this tournament, obviously, getting to the quarter-finals and creating history for themselves. But, yeah, of course, if we can keep him quiet, it would be a huge factor.”

A huge talking point going into the game is the suspension of Jarell Quansah who will miss the next two games. On his suspension, O’Reilly said: “Yeah, it’s sad for him. Unfortunate. I’m gutted for him myself. He’s a good friend of mine and he’s not happy about it. But I think the decision’s made now. We need to get on with it. He’s got his head around it.”
