Orelsan unveiled AS Nancy-Lorraine’s new home shirt by wearing it on stage at the Nancy Open Air festival on Saturday.
According to L'Équipe, he reappeared a few songs into his set in a white design with red stripes that extend from the thistle crest. That aligns with the artistic direction of recent editions.
He had first taken the stage, backed by musicians, performers and giant screens, in last season’s ASNL away shirt. He later switched to the new home strip to show it to the crowd.
The Normandy-born artist has long had a close bond with football, especially Stade Malherbe de Caen. He has previously said he loves the club more than football.
Even so, his choice is unlikely to cause animosity. Caen remain in Ligue three after finishing 8th last season, while Nancy will begin a second successive campaign in Ligue two.
