Orlando Pirates have provided an injury update on starlet Relebohile Mofokeng ahead of their Betway Premiership clash against Polokwane City at Orlando Stadium on Wednesday.

The Soweto giants return to league action on the back of a shock 3-0 defeat to Saint-Eloi Lupopo of Democratic Republic of Congo in the first leg of the CAF Champions League second round.

Pirates had to do without the reliable services of Mofokeng, who last featured in the Carling Knockout Cup round of 16 win over Siwelele FC before the FIFA international break.

Now, ahead of the clash against Rise and Shine, the Buccaneers have confirmed the Bafana international is doubtful, along with Deano van Rooyen and Tapelo Xoki.

Meanwhile, a win against Polokwane could see Pirates close in on the top spot as they trail log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns with six points, having played two games less.

Abdeslam Ouaddou's men are currently in third place on the Betway Premiership standings with 15 points accumulated from eight league outings.
