Orlando Pirates provide a new update on K Thabiso Sesane and midfielder Selaelo Rasebotja!

As the match schedule intensifies for Orlando Pirates, a wave of optimism emerges from the medical room concerning two key figures. The club has shared encouraging news on the recovery of central defender Thabiso Sesane and midfielder Selaelo Rasebotja. Both players were struck by misfortune during the previous season's second round, with their injuries unfortunately carrying over and forcing them to miss the initial fixtures of the 2025/26 campaign.

The absence of Sesane is felt profoundly, as he had previously established himself as a linchpin in the Pirates' backline. Last season, he forged a formidable defensive partnership with Olisa Ndah who is himself currently recovering from an injury and was instrumental in the Buccaneers' triumphant 2024 MTN8 final victory over Stellenbosch FC. Before his setback, the 25-year-old academy graduate was a consistent presence, making "29 appearances across all competitions" and contributing two assists.

His teammate, Rasebotja, faces a different challenge, having sustained a significant long-term injury shortly after his arrival. The midfielder had just joined the squad in July 2024, signing as a free agent following the dissolution of his former club, SuperSport United, "who recently sold their top-flight status to Siwelele FC."
