Osasuna condemn La Liga after Celta Vigo match moved to 27 August | OneFootball

La Liga have postponed Sunday’s opening-round match between Celta Vigo and Osasuna after a fungus left the pitch in poor condition.

The club said in a statement that it was unhappy with the switch, calling it an unacceptable lack of respect and arguing the league ignored both clubs’ wish to play in September. It also criticised the late decision as a lack of foresight and professionalism, ending with a pointed message about the league.

All parties, including Osasuna, had agreed the fixture should be postponed given the state of the surface.

Instead, the game has been rearranged for Thursday 27 August.

Osasuna will refund in full the 153 supporters who bought tickets.
