In the dying moments of an eventual 1-1 La Liga draw with Las Palmas, Budimir was forced into an exit from proceedings at the Estadio Gran Canaria.

This came after an aerial challenge culminated in the frontman crashing face first into the turf.

Though he initially managed to make his way from the pitch under the supervision of the Osasuna medical staff, it was subsequently revealed by head coach Jagoba Arrasate that Budimir lost consciousness whilst on the bench.

The former Mallorca man, in turn, was rushed to a nearby hospital, to undergo a series of medical tests.

And, as alluded to above, a fresh insight into his current wellbeing has since been forthcoming.

As per an official statement across Osasuna’s website and social media platforms, Budimir – who has notched an impressive 13 La Liga goals this season – has suffered a fracture in his sinuses.

Thankfully, the 32-year-old has since been discharged from hospital, but he could well be facing up to a spell on the sidelines, with an evaluation by way of a maxillofacial surgeon set to determine whether or not Budimir requires surgery:

‘Budimir suffers a fracture in the right maxillary sinus and is awaiting evaluation by a maxillofacial surgeon in the Clinica Navarra to determine if surgical intervention is required. The player has already returned to the team hotel and tomorrow he will return to Pamplona with the team.’
