Osasuna showed clear improvement against Athletic but had to settle for a draw despite Rubén García's long-range free-kick putting them ahead at half-time.

As reported by as.com, both sides fashioned chances in a high-tempo opening, and the Navarre side led at the break after García's 35-metre free-kick caught Unai Simón out.

Athletic began the second half on top and Osasuna gradually responded, but fatigue set in. Gorka Guruzeta levelled in the 71st minute and the points were shared.

Sergio Herrera was alert and decisive, denying Athletic openings. Catena was outstanding at the back, with Herrando equally assured. Javi Galán impressed in his first game for the club, strong in duels and tidy in possession.

Lucas Torró was immense, recovering numerous balls and going close to scoring. Moncayola covered spaces well and had a good chance. Aimar was everywhere, producing a complete display with trademark touches.

Rubén García remained a threat from the flank. Víctor Muñoz used his pace to good effect and supplied tidy passes. Budimir worked tirelessly but never threatened the goal.

Barja showed neat moments in his minutes, while Raúl might have scored from a fine Galán cross. Moi Gómez only featured briefly.
