Exit after defeat to Japan

Oscar Gloukh's 2024 Olympic adventure has ended in the group stage. His side suffered a narrow 0-1 defeat against Japan, who won all three group stage matches without conceding. Our 20-year-old midfielder started - as he did in the previous matches –  but had no direct goal involvement for the first time in France after scoring and forcing a Mali own goal in his previous appearances.

Oscar Gloukh will now return to Salzburg and will start training with our Red Bulls again later in the week.

+++ Saturday 27 July vs. Paraguay

The Israeli national team suffered a setback at the 2024 Olympics - in the second group stage match against Paraguay, Oscar Gloukh & Co suffered a disappointing 2-4 defeat. Our 20-year-old midfield maestro missed a penalty in the 80th minute but then managed to equalise at 2-2. Two stoppage time goals (90+3' and 90+6') saw the South Americans seal it.

The battle to make the knockout stage has got even tougher for Israel. On Monday evening (21:00 CEST) they will have to beat an unbeaten Japanese side!

+++ Wednesday 24 July vs. Mali +++

While we are getting ready to start the 2024/25 season, Oscar Gloukh began his 2024 Olympics campaign in Paris on Wednesday evening. In Israel's first group stage match at PSG's Parc des Princes stadium, they took a 1-1 draw against Mali, with our Red Bull impressing during his 82 minutes on the field.

The Israeli opening goal was indeed set up by our midfield maestro. Gloukh was served the ball on the left flank and proceeded to weave into the middle of the box with a brilliant dribble! His shot was saved, only for a defender to turn the ball into his own net. Israel's lead lasted just seven minutes, however.

On Saturday at 19:00 CEST, Gloukh's gang will be in action again when they face Paraguay, before finishing the group on Tuesday at 21:00 against Japan. They therefore still have every chance of making the knockout stages.
