Victor Osimhen has said it was ‘easy’ to accept a move to Galatasaray after completing his loan move to the club.
Osimhen has signed for the Turkish Süper Lig champions on a season-long loan deal from Napoli, having expressed his desire to leave Italy after a prolific period in Naples.
The Nigerian international has made the surprise move to Turkey after prospective moves to Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea and Al-Ahli fell through in the summer.
His arrival at Galatasaray is one of the shock deals of the summer after the Turkish team capitalised on the closure of the transfer window in Europe’s top five leagues, but the 25-year-old said he had no hesitation in accepting the offer from Istanbul.
“It was easy for me to accept Gala, it’s a big club,” Osimhen said in comments published by Fabrizio Romano.
“Onyekuru told me how special are the fans, I saw how they welcomed me at the airport… I was so happy.
“I was already following Gala since Dries Mertens joined them, I can’t wait now.”
After completing his move to the club on Wednesday, Osimhen took to social media to express his delight.
“Super excited to be part of the Galatasaray family,” he wrote on X.
“I can’t wait to give my all and make the most of this new journey with such an amazing group and the fans. Ready to create unforgettable memories together! Let’s go.”
