Óskarsson, Aramburu and Yangel returned to training at Zubieta on Thursday with the txuri-urdin squad after their holidays. According to Diario Vasco, the trio worked to individual plans separate from the group on day one.
Rino and his players continued pre-season with another session at Zubieta, building intensity in a first week focused on physical work, ball drills and tactics.
Jon Martín, Beñat Turrientes and Sergio Gómez have been in full training since the start of the week. Kazunari Kita joined on Wednesday and completed Thursday’s session under Matarazzo.
Their return appears key for Europe. Aramburu is the only natural right-back in the first team, pending Iñaki Rupérez’s pre-season response, with Odriozola injured, Aritz gone and no cover in the Sanse. He is set to play many matches.
Yangel Herrera faces a pivotal season to reassert himself. Last term, his first at Real after an investment of 11 million, was largely lost to injuries and his level when he did play was below expectations.
Óskarsson aims to extend last season’s momentum after scoring five goals in the final eight rounds. He started five of seven after the Copa final, missed Montilivi suspended and was a substitute at the Sánchez Pizjuán. Earlier, he lost the last four months of 2025 to a left rectus femoris injury.
Real Sociedad train on Friday, hold a joint session with Pau FC on Saturday, rest Sunday, then prepare for Racing de Santander on Saturday 18 July.
