Two years ago today, Lionel Messi made his debut for Inter Miami and he truly announced himself in the most special way.
The MLS side faced Cruz Azul in the Leagues Cup and went into the break ahead, thanks to a goal from Robert Taylor just before half-time.
However, they were pegged back early in the second half, and it took a magical stoppage-time free kick from Messi himself to clinch the victory
From outside the D, Messi lifted his free-kick over the wall and nestled it beautifully into the top-left corner - something we've seen the magician do time and time again.
It's been two years since Leo Messi made his Inter Miami debut. Of course he did this 🪄 (via @MLS)–
Two years on, the 38-year-old has now scored 58 goals and registered 26 assists across 68 appearances for Inter Miami.
His contract runs through until the end of the 2025 MLS season, although widespread reports suggest talks over a potential extension remain ongoing.
