Leicester's Premier League title win in 2016 is often heralded as modern football's greatest miracle, but 12 years prior, Greece won EURO 2004 in what is unquestionably the international game's best-ever underdog story.

Coached by the legendary Otto Rehhagel, who had won the Bundesliga in remarkable fashion with Kaiserlautern in 1998, the Greeks had already upset the odds in making the final.

France and Czech Republic had both been beaten 1-0 in the knockout stages, and it was more of the same in Lisbon against hosts, Portugal, who they had already defeated in the opening game of the tournament.

Angelos Charisteas wrote his name in Greek mythology and history with the winner, giving the country a night they will never ever forget.
