The Reds' miraculous 2005 win continued to pick up steam on this day when they stunned a star-studded Juventus side at Anfield. 

On what was an emotional night 20 years on from the Heysel Stadium disaster, Sami Hyypia and Luis Garcia struck to secure a precious first-leg win over the Italian champions. 

Fabio Cannavaro's second-half goal set things up perfectly for the return leg, but Liverpool held out to secure passage to the semi-final. The rest, as they say, is history. 

Can a beleaguered Arne Slot and his team do something similar in Europe this year?
