Early in the second half, both teams found the net. Gonçalo Ramos doubled PSG’s advantage in the 50th minute, but Rennes quickly responded when a deflected corner fell near the post, allowing Lilian Brassier to tap it in.

Rennes pushed to stay in the game, but Ousmane Dembele, who entered in the 64th minute, struck twice in stoppage time against his former club to seal a dominant 4-1 victory for PSG.

Only Cristiano Ronaldo, with Real Madrid in 2018, reached 20 goals faster in a calendar year for a top-five European club than Dembele, per Stats Du Foot. Ronaldo did it in 13 matches, while Dembele reached the mark in 15.

It will be interesting to see whether the Frenchman can find the back of the net on Tuesday night at Anfield against Liverpool—a Dembele performance similar to when they faced Barcelona last year in the quarterfinals.
