Benoit Badiashile has confirmed he wants to stay at Chelsea and will do his best to succeed at Stamford Bridge following questions about his future.

Badiashile arrived from French club Monaco in January 2023 in a deal worth £35m and made an instant impact in Graham Potter’s struggling side.

The Frenchman looked calm and composed on the ball and it appeared Chelsea had a top player on their books, although things haven’t gone to plan since.

Badiashile wants to stay at Chelsea and be a success

The 23-year-old suffered a long term injury towards the back end the 2022/2023 campaign which sidelined him for a number of months.

The defender struggled to get back into the team once he was fit again and when he did feature he made a number of individual errors and didn’t look like the player he was before.

There’s a lot of competition for places at centre back and Badiashile has struggled for minutes in the league with his only minutes coming as a second half substitute in last month’s defeat to Liverpool.

Badiashile has only played 37 minutes in the Premier League this season.

The cup competitions have offered him more minutes and Badiashile is likely to start against Noah on Thursday night in the Conference League.

Speaking to the media ahead of the Noah game Badiashile reiterated he wanted to stay at Chelsea and would do his best to succeed.

“Of course, I want to stay,” he told reporters.

“Chelsea is a big club. I know it’s difficult to succeed here. But I will do my best.”

Enzo Maresca seems pretty set on Wesley Fofana and Levi Colwill being his first choice pairing, whilst Badiashile is competing with the likes of Tosin Adarabioyo and Axel Disasi.

If Badiashile is to genuinely force his way in he needs to excel when given the opportunities and he may need some luck like a suspension to one of the aforementioned.
