Gian Piero Gasperini’s Roma side are focused on this evening’s Europa League season opener against Nice, with the new coach hoping to get the campaign off to a winning start.
However, Roma’s fans are letting the club down, with more than 100 arrested in the French city yesterday, as per reports from RMC Sport, via IlNapolista.

The reports claim that the rowdy Giallorossi supporters were attempting to provoke Nice fans whilst armed with weapons. Security cameras in the city helped intercept the crowd as they approached Nice’s old town district. Some weapons confiscated from the fans include brass knuckles and iron bars.
In a press release from the Prefecture of Nice, they confirmed “102 arrests for people identified as Roma ultras carrying weapons.”
The statement confirmed that “the individuals were stopped by the police and all the weapons found were seized.”
The prefecture also confirmed an increased police presence at the match tonight, “with approximately 400 police offers ensuring a permanent presence to prevent any disturbance of public order.”
The statement further revealed that there would be a ban enforced on drinking alcohol in the streets and nightclubs in the area would be closing earlier for the night.
