Mikel Oyarzabal was not in the starting line-up against Alavés, short of full fitness but injury free, according to Diario Vasco.

Head coach Matarazzo spoke to him before kick-off and was told he was not at 100%, which explained Óskarsson’s inclusion.

There is no underlying issue, only minor discomfort, and his omission was precautionary. The captain will be in the final against Atlético.

This week the No 10 underwent medical tests, as did others carrying knocks. The news was positive, with no injuries detected.

Only Zubeldia, Odriozola and Rupérez are ruled out of the final against Atlético. The coach hopes to have Gorrotxategi and Yangel Herrera back this week.
