Pablo Fornals dedicated a goal to former club West Ham United yesterday after helping Real Betis beat Arsenal in a pre-season friendly.

The La Liga club ran out 3-1 winners over the Gunners. Fornals was the star of the show, assisting twice before scoring the last goal of the game.

The former Hammers star put up the crossed irons with his arms as he celebrated the goal.

The 30-year-old spent four and a half seasons at the London Stadium before returning to Spain in February 2024.

Fornals bagged 23 goals and 19 assists in 203 games for the Hammers, and things could have been different for them iif he had stayed with the club.

West Ham will now look to start life in the Championship on an impressive note as they eye an immediate return to the Premier League.

They have yet to make any new signings this summer but are in negotiations with Tottenham Hotspur for the permanent transfer of Manor Solomon.

The Hammers also want to sign AZ Alkmaar striker Troy Parrott.

They kick off 2026-27 with a game against Portsmouth on Saturday in the first-round of the League Cup.

West Ham travel to Turf Moor afterwards to take on Burnley on August 16 in their first game of the Championship campaign.
