Pacheco and Goti named as Matarazzo’s first Real Sociedad squad omits Guedes and Gorrotxategi | OneFootball

Real Sociedad have named their first squad of the season, with Pellegrino Matarazzo taking 24 players to Sevilla. A fit-again Pacheco and Mikel Goti are included alongside five Sanse prospects, while Gonçalo Guedes and Jon Gorrotxategi are not selected.

According to Diario Vasco, Pablo Marín, only just back from injury and a potential emergency option on the right, also misses out. There is no Odriozola, Rupérez cannot step up from Sanse until January, and no signings have been made official.

Sanse call-ups are Folgado, Beitia, Lebarbier, Marchal and Carrera. Folgado will act as third goalkeeper and is probably the late omission. If the quintet do not feature on Friday at Betis, they can play for the B team on Saturday against Albacete.

Guedes and Gorrotxategi are left out for lack of match rhythm. Both trained with the group on Friday, yet their limited pre-season minutes mean Matarazzo is being cautious, with eight games in 30 days ahead. Real Madrid on Wednesday 26 and Espanyol on Saturday 29 could offer them a fresh chance to be called.

The big question is whether Mikel Oyarzabal starts in attack. The likeliest XI is Remiro, Aramburu, Zubeldia or Beitia, Jon Martín, Sergio Gómez, Yangel Herrera, Soler, Sucic, and a front three of Kubo, Óskarsson and Barrenetxea.

The squad will travel on matchday, taking advantage of the 21:00 kick-off at Betis, then return after the final whistle.
