Paderborn set to accelerate move for Alan Virginius | OneFootball

According to L'Équipe, Paderborn are best placed to sign Young Boys Bern winger Alan Virginius, with talks expected to accelerate next week.

Virginius has missed the last two Swiss league matches after sustaining an adductor injury on 26 July against FC Sion. He is expected to be available next week, though it is unclear whether that return will come with Young Boys.

Several European clubs have registered interest in the former Sochaux and Lille player. The 23-year-old is under contract with Young Boys until June 2029.

Negotiations with Genoa have cooled, as have contacts with Anderlecht.

The Bundesliga club have already lodged at least one bid with Young Boys, but it was not high enough to be accepted.
