The points were shared between Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace at the City Ground despite Neco William's first-half red card.
Forest took the lead inside the first six minutes after the Eagles failed to deal with a corner with Morgan Gibbs-White eventually getting the final touch.
The big moment of the game came just before half-time as Jefferson Lerma won a header that looked like it would be sailing into the top corner. Neco Williams took it upon himself to make the save with his hand leading to one of the most clear-cut red card decisions of the season.
That also meant a penalty for the Eagles that Ismaila Sarr managed to put past Matz Seles.
The Belgian goalkeeper wouldn't feature for much longer though after being withdrawn due to injury at the break with Angus Gunn coming on for the second half. Luckily for Sean Dyche's team, they were able to unveil new signing Stefan Ortega before the game – the new arrival may well feature sooner rather than later.
Despite having superior numbers, the Eagles weren't able to use their numerical advantage in the second half with their winless run now stretching to 12 games in all competitions ahead of the big game against Brighton next week.
It was a well-earned point for Forest though who now go six points clear of the drop zone after West Ham's defeat on Saturday.
