Crystal Palace have approached Chelsea about the prospect of taking Mykhailo Mudryk on loan in the January transfer window.
Mudryk has struggled to make an impact at Chelsea since his high-profile move to the club from Shakhtar Donetsk in January 2023.
The winger emerged as one of Europe’s most in-demand talents in Ukraine with Chelsea beating competition from Arsenal to land the player in a deal that could reach £88.5m with add-ons.
However, Mudryk has underwhelmed in the Premier League and has just five goals and four assists in 53 appearances in the division.
This season, he has been on the fringes of Enzo Maresca’s plans, featuring for just 143 minutes in the Premier League. He has started just one game and was substituted at half-time at Wolves in September.
Mudryk has shown flashes of his talent in the Europa Conference League and Football Transfers are reporting that Crystal Palace are prepared to offer him a lifeline in January.
The Eagles believe Mudryk’s pace and direct style can provide them with a ‘game-changing option’, following the exits of Wilfried Zaha and Michael Olise in successive summers.
Oliver Glasner’s side have had a tough start to the Premier League season, with the club in the relegation places after one win from their opening 11 games.
Mudryk faces significant competition at Chelsea with Joao Felix, Pedro Neto and Jadon Sancho all arriving in the summer transfer window.
The move across the capital could provide the 23-year-old an opportunity to earn regular minutes and find rhythm in the Premier League, something he has lacked at Stamford Bridge.
