César Palacios is set to be available this summer, with Real Madrid and the 21-year-old accepting his Castilla cycle has run its course. The Castilla top scorer on 14 this season is now expected to seek opportunities in the elite.

Interest has been growing since January and has accelerated in recent weeks alongside his involvement with the first team. According to as.com, Osasuna and Como stand out as leading options, both have asked about him and would not displease Madrid.

Osasuna’s recent success with Víctor Muñoz, whose value rose sharply after a single season, is a persuasive precedent. Como has become an attractive springboard for Madrid prospects after the progress of Nico Paz and Jacobo Ramón, and it currently offers the carrot of European football, sitting in a Conference place and only three points off the Champions League.

Madrid favour deals that retain 50 percent of a youth player’s rights, unless an irresistible bid arrives. A full sale, removing their say over Palacios’s future, would drive the price up considerably. For reference, Víctor Muñoz, held at 50 percent with Osasuna, has a clause of 40 million and Madrid are asking 60M€ for Gonzalo.

Managing ready-to-bloom academy talent is a live issue at Madrid, with Palacios viewed as capable of immediate impact. Several top-flight clubs share that view and are tracking him, though Athletic have stepped away because a 50 percent purchase does not align with their plans.

Getafe and Alavés are open to that structure and are monitoring developments. Palacios has featured in five first-team matches this season for a total of 83 minutes.
