Palestra ‘to have’ Chelsea medical and sign tomorrow | OneFootball

Marco Palestra is set to travel to London to complete paperwork and undergo a medical ahead of his move from Atalanta to Chelsea.

Sky reports that the Italian wing-back will head to England to sign what is expected to be a six-year contract with the Blues.

Chelsea emerged late to outmanoeuvre Inter for his signature after a standout campaign with Cagliari that earned him Serie A defender of the season.

His rise drew interest from several top clubs, with Inter considering him a present for Cristian Chivu after the Romanian won the Scudetto in his first season in charge.

Chelsea, however, tabled a lucrative package to the player and moved quickly to satisfy Atalanta’s terms.

The Bergamo club are known for drawn-out negotiations, illustrated again by Inter ending up empty-handed in their pursuit of Ademola Lookman last summer.
