Inter are close to signing Marco Palestra from Atalanta, with agent Alessandro Lucci in Milan to finalise details, and confirmation expected within 24 to 48 hours.
Fabrizio Romano reports that the package is around €50 million including bonuses, with a sell-on percentage under discussion in meetings today. Inter have already agreed personal terms on a five-year contract worth about €3 million net per season.
The player, 21, rejected alternatives from Premier League sides Chelsea and Manchester City, keeping Inter in control of talks. The overall structure could take the total value beyond €50 million.
A broad agreement between all parties has been in place for some time, with only minor financial points outstanding.
Palestra impressed on loan at Cagliari last season, forcing his way into the Nerazzurri’s plans and earning his first senior Italy call-ups. He is expected to step into the right-back role vacated by Denzel Dumfries, who is set to complete a move to Real Madrid.
